Our story

How it all began

It began in the winter of 2019, in an old warehouse in Fort Kochi, in front of a Biennale installation neither of us understood. Arjun asked what it meant. Meera made something up with total confidence. He believed every word.

Since then there have been two monsoons spent in different cities, a hundred cups of chukku kaapi, one rain-soaked drive up to Munnar and a long-running debate about whose amma makes the better avial. Last January, as the sun went down behind the Chinese fishing nets, he finally asked. She said yes before he finished the question.

Before you pack

Good to know

A few small things that will make the weekend easier for everyone.

  • Dress code

Kasavu whites and gold for the muhurtham: cream sarees, set mundu, or a silk shirt with mundu. Breathable cotton is your best friend by the lake.

  • The sadhya

Vegetarian, served on banana leaf and eaten with your right hand. Spoons are on hand, no judgement. Fold your leaf towards you when you're done, it means you loved it.

  • Unplugged muhurtham

Please keep phones away while the thali is tied. Our photographers have it covered, and we promise to share everything.

  • December weather

Warm days around 31°C and cooler evenings near 23°C. Mosquito repellent and hand fans will be waiting at the welcome desk.

  • Where to stay

Rooms are held at The Palm Grove Lakehouse until 25 November. Mention Meera and Arjun when you book to get the wedding rate.

  • Blessings

Your presence is the only gift we ask for. If you would still like to give something, a blessing box will be at the welcome desk.
